This 10,000 square foot new Community and Elementary School Joint-use project is adjacent to a community park in Suisun City is designed to revitalize the surrounding neighborhood. As a joint-use facility, there are two separate entrances to the Library, one from the Community and one from Suisun Elementary School.

The Kirsch Center is the lead demonstration project for energy conservation and sustainability for the California Community College System. It features high quality natural daylighting in all key spaces, natural ventilation, radiant heating and cooling, underfloor air conditioning, and a 30 kw solar photovoltaics system.

As the University of California's principal field research facility for agriculture and natural resources in the north coast region, Hopland Research and Extension Center (HREC) aims to fulfill their role as a center for community and research. After a preliminary programming and design phase by Sim Van der Ryn and the EcoDesign Collaborative, PR&P was contacted to oversee the team and further develop the building design and site. Working with a very tight budget, the facility will house 2 laboratories, a central museum space and a large meeting room.

The Child Development Center is a "village" of five small residential-type buildings.
Most notable about this project is the seemless integration of indoor and outdoor areas, carefully situated between existing oaks.
Sustainability features include natural daylighting in virtually every room, passive solar orientation , radiant heated floors, natural ventilation and extraordinary care for excellen indoor air quality.
Project is in application for LEED GOLD.

The recently completed HSU Student Recreation Center is a student funded project to create a 37,000 square foot Recreation Facility for the campus. The project includes extensive renovations to an existing 27,000 sf Field House and a new 10,000 sf Fitness Center addition.

The John Adams Campus project includes extensive modernization of this historic building constructed in 1911. The building was originally built as the "new" campus for Lowell High School. In addition to the 130,000 sf of extensive modernization and seismic upgrading, the project scope includes approximately 9,500 sf in a new three story extension to one of the existing wings.

The project was constructed on a fast track basis while the arena was continuously open. With the strong coordination bewteen the University, Devcon, The Contractor and the design team led by Paul Roberts the project came in more $1,000,000 under budget.

The most stunning aspect of the center is the green roof. The wood frame structure was constructed using engineered glulam beams. Recepient of the 2004 GRHC North American Green Roofs of Excellence Award, this green roof aids in storm water management, decreases heating and cooling costs, and contributes to biodiveresity conservation.

Currently in design, this new community and environmental education center at the west end of Golden Gate Park will provide brightly daylit meeting and gathering space for visitors to the park.

This 40,000 square foot facility includes an "International Cafeteria", full kitchen and servery, computer technology classrooms and center with 125 computers , campus bookstore, Student Government and Dean's Office facilities, conference center, student activity rooms and the campus police station.

Paul Roberts personally developed the programs and preliminary facility design
work for this $106 million dollar set of projects for UC Santa Cruz.
Paul Roberts began the project while at Ellerbe Becket. Most of the programming
was then completed and preliminary facilities design was done by Paul after
founding Paul Roberts & Partners. SOM working as Site Planner was the lead
consultant for the project.
