CCSF - John Adams College
The John Adams Campus project includes extensive modernization of this historic building constructed in 1911. The building was originally built as the "new" campus for Lowell High School. In addition to the 130,000 sf of extensive modernization and seismic upgrading, the project scope includes approximately 9,500 sf in a new three story extension to one of the existing wings.
The College approached PR&P about the project and told us that the Programming, Schematic Design and Design Development phases would need to be completed in less than nine weeks in order for them to meet a key funding deadline from the State.
In order to accomplish this large project in such a short time, the firm added staff who, combined with our existing staff and key consultants worked up to and in some cases over ninety hours per week in order to meet the highly compressed schedule. The result of our efforts was an impressive and well coordinated set, which was well received by the State and the College including preliminary reviews by the DSA, materials boards and computer renderings.
The project was completed in late 2009 with no additive change orders.
This is just one of many examples of how PR&P understands the needs of our clients and puts their interests first in order to provide an extraordinary level of service.
